Spring Leaf Clean Ups
Each April, before the lawn mowing season starts, there is work that needs to be done on the lawn and in the landscape. No matter how clean a lawn was in the fall, there always is debris the following spring. We call this work a Spring Clean Up, which is a service that prepares the lawn and landscape for the spring growing season. During this service visit, we take care of a number of potentially damaging concerns that may be found, including the following items:
-
- Blowers remove loose leaves from last fall and over the winter
- Blowers and rakes remove the matted or “frozen” leaves in the bed or turf
- Cutting down ornamental grasses that were left tall for some visual winter contrast
- Cutting down any perennials not cut in the fall
- Picking up twigs and branches shed from the trees during the winter
This is an important service in the spring for all properties. Leaves that are not cleaned up can damage the turf and trap diseases in the shrub beds. Leaves from a diseased tree often carry the spores of the disease and the spring rains may active those spores and re-infect the same tree or others.
Debris
All debris that is cleaned up during the service visit is taken away with us. No bags or stickers to worry about and nothing left at the end of your driveway. All of the debris is loaded onto our trucks and properly disposed of at one of our yards. There is a charge for the debris disposal, which is measured in cubic yards. Please see below for pricing information.
Evaluation Time
During the spring clean up, the foreman of the crew has been trained to look for certain possible concerns, such as snow mold or turf damage. If the foreman sees a concern, he will notify a manager who will follow up and suggest remedies to you.
Spring Gutter Cleaning
Something to consider in the spring as well is that the gutters probably are filled with debris just like the beds. For a complete clean up and a good start to spring, have your gutters cleaned while we do your spring clean up.
What Does A Spring Clean Up Cost?
Both spring and fall clean ups are done by the man hour. The 2015 man hour rate is $35 per man hour with a 4 hour minimum. The 2015 disposal cost is $15 per cubic yard, the same price it has been for almost a decade. Gutter cleaning starts at $90 and goes up from there, however, most residentials homes are right around that price.
